  1. Maturity & Politics: How can someone so smart be so dumb?

The question of "How can someone so smart be so dumb?" in the case of President of Obama totally misses the point. Its not that Obama isn't smart (he is), he just isn't mature for his age. And for those of us who are much older, we easily see that.

Unfortunately, when you are young its like a horse wearing blinders. You just don't see the entire picture and no amount of reasoning can fix that. Its hard to make the right (mature) decisions when you have spent your entire lift surrounded by those in the party/philosophy that appeals to the immature. So Mr. Obama: Welcome to the adult world. Its time to grow up.

  2. Global Warming & the Burden of Proof in Science

I saw the following quote on the Internet:

In real science the burden of proof is always on the proposer, never on the sceptics. So far neither IPCC nor anyone else has provided one iota of valid data for global warming nor have they provided data that climate change is being effected by commerce and industry, and not by natural phenomena.
This is good to keep in mind no matter what your inclination might be on the subject.

Neurotics can't tolerate ambiguity. But the democratic process is.
To most of us, "freedom of speech" isn't a sound bite. Its a basic human right that helps protect us from Tyranny. Its only an intolerant person who would want to quash the freedom of speech of others. That's why on the Right Wing you will find people say things like: "I totally disagree with (fill in the blank), but I would fight for his right to say it."

Its a Left Wing trait to control the speech of others (i.e. 1984, the ...

  4. When Those Who Don’t Pay Taxes Run the Nation

When those who run the nation don't pay taxes, its a precursor to disaster in the long run for any nation. Liberty denied for some to benefit others is what the Left Wingers always do. That is what occurred in our southern states back pre-1865. We have seen their same modus operandi time and again around the world (Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, the current Iran).

Of course, the person with a slave master mentality (i.e. Left Winger) always rationalizes such as a societal "good" at the expense of those who are losing their liberty. They call it "Social Justice" as we saw in NAZI Germany. But the person enslaved knows better and knows that such thinking is only a rationalization of evil by the enslaver.

The Right Wing believes in equality. Accordingly, it was the Right Wing (Republican) that freed the slaves from the slave (Democrat) states. If one group continues to be enslaved at the expense of another, history will surely repeat itself ...

  5. Why Does President Obama Not Answer the Questions Asked?

That is Obama's signature move: Invent "people" who are "saying"
ridiculous things and then encourage the audience to laugh at these
    made-up buffoons.

Since Obama's reformulations of Republican arguments are always
absurd, no further response from him is necessary -- and none is ever
    forthcoming.

Thus, for example, Obama's description of Republican criticism of his
plan to nationalize health care was that "this thing was some
    Bolshevik plot."

No. No one said it was a "plot," Bolshevik or otherwise.

Republicans' objection to national health care could be more
accurately portrayed as follows: Obama's plan
