  1. Global Warming & the Burden of Proof in Science

I saw the following quote on the Internet:

In real science the burden of proof is always on the proposer, never on the sceptics. So far neither IPCC nor anyone else has provided one iota of valid data for global warming nor have they provided data that climate change is being effected by commerce and industry, and not by natural phenomena.
This is good to keep in mind no matter what your inclination might be on the subject.

  2. The Success of Fox News Over Its Left Wing Competitors

Part of the reason for the growing success of Fox News is that it appeals to the more mature portion of the population: namely, the Baby Boomers who are now in their 50s and 60s. Left Wingers, who make up the immature end of the political spectrum naturally prefer less mature "news" sources such as MSNBC, Jon Stewart, Madonna, Huffington Post, etc.

Fox News has wisely chosen the huge maturing demographic over kids in their 20s and 30s who have not yet had the experiences in life to understand a mature prospective.

  3. Poor Richard's "Law of Liberalism"

Per Poor Richard's Law, "If you are dumb, immature, or both -- you are going to be a liberal." Dumb cannot be fixed. But there is always hope that one grows up.

  4. If You Can't Vote in an Election, You Shouldn't Be Able to Donate to the Election

One of the biggest problems we currently face in government is corrupt politicians who pander to special interest contributors instead of We the People. The reason they do so is to obtain money to fund their campaigns in order to gain or maintain political power. In the meantime, the interests of the voters are ignored. Its time this perverting of the democratic process is stopped.

Poor Richard's "Law of Campaign Finance" states: "If you cannot vote in an election, you should not be able to donate to that election."

In other words, if you are a citizen of China, you should not be able to contribute money to our Presidential elections. Most people would agree as an election is for the electorate to choose their representatives in government. Its not for outsiders to influence the outcome differently from what the electorate wants.

Likewise, if you are a resident of California, you shouldn't be able to contribute to an election in ...

  5. Poor Richard's "Law of Pork" and the 10th Amendment of the Constitution

The 10th amendment of the Constitution states:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

And yet, we see congressional members inserting into bills all kinds of projects that benefit only their own state and often only a single town in their state.

Poor Richard's Rule of Pork is:

"If the Constitution does not require a spending item to be engaged in by the federal government and the state is not prohibited from engaging in that spending item, that spending item MUST be engaged in by the state or not at all." Or, to simply it: "If the State is permitted to do it, the Federal government should not be involved."

Obviously, a museum in Anywhere, USA is not required to be created by federal spending nor is it prohibited by the state from creating it on its own. If the ...
