Yep, which is why I prefer frangible rounds in a revolver. Though, I just
had a thought. You could possibly go with one of the .410 handguns, but that
might be a bit big for quick manuvering. :-)

Overkill? After the first time I'm killed, there's no "over"
about it.
I don't want to die, because then the universe ends.

True, True.
>Gawd some peoples vocabulary is quite a bit less then.
But I have this "Loose grasp of the English language" which
sometimes stumbles down the byways and side streets off the usual well
worn paths of thought. (Weiss dui, I'm not heading down some
metaphorical alley to mug another language for vocabulary and adverbs.
Savey?)
On the other side, the point of self defense is to "Stop The
Attack." Saving my life is mission one, unless _I_ decide that
someone else is more deserving to live. Damital, I did not volunteer
to be the one at the pointy end of the stick, biology is not destiny!
But I did get issued the testosterone, the testes, and the hardwiring.
Like in the Army, the gun came with the job. Only in this case, with
the **** came the responsibilities. I didn't ask to be responsible, I
don't remember being asked - it just was expected. One of those
cultural assumptions when the "profile" isn't fair, but so what? Men
do that combat thing. (God help us when the women get involved,
defending cubs brings out the weremonster - and then you get blamed
because there's blood spatters on the ceiling!)
And I don't want to let down other people, especially those I care
about. Which means I should get used to getting into tactical gear in
the dark, and doing the Guy Thing. Which is to put myself between
those I love and those who mean them harm.
There is no "over kill" - especially when the alternative is my
life. That ends, the universe ends. So, there is no overkill. Over
penetration, maybe, excessive collateral damage, possibly. Overkill,
nyet. They can't die more than once. And even if I could raise and
animate their corpse, it wouldn't change the fact that they are still
dead just the once.

I had a guy tell he that a homemade zipgun wouldn't do any good in any
uprising. (This occurred on the approach to the millenium.) Anyway, I
told him that the threat of it or one shot from it could get me a real
rifle, perhaps his.

Some one needs to read a little deeper in history. The
"Liberator" was just such a "zip gun" - good for about seven shots. It
was intended as a means for a member of a Resistance to "get" a real
gun.
And the nice thing about zipguns - no "ballistic fingerprint."

Well, some people figure the only things you can trade up are cars, houses,
and wives.
